“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”
― John Holmes
Amidst the fun and games at GameVillage, we do not forget to do our bit for the upliftment of the society. The charity we chose to donate to last month was the British Heart Foundation. Pioneering research and funding thousands of operations for people suffering from heart ailments, the BHF seeks to eliminate death due to preventable cardiovascular diseases. They are UK’S largest funder of cardiovascular research and the nation’s biggest heart charity. BHF continues the fight through vital prevention and survival techniques by ensuring quality care and support for everyone living with a heart disease.
Everybody is entitled to a fulfilling life with their loved ones, which cannot be cut short by a heart disease. We feel like no action is truly rewarding as charity is. It not only enriches our own life, but also the person who receives lease to a new life. At GameVillage, we stand by the phrase ‘charity begins at one’s own home’. That is why we conducted the charity event in our Village Inn room on the 31st of October at 3pm.
A total of £450 was made in wagers by players in just one hour-long game and we want to thank each and every player who contributed to it.
Through the simple game of bingo, we have contributed in whatever small wy possible, to saving lives and to preserving relationships, along with the BHF. Coronary heart disease is the single largest killer in the UK and it is up to us to save as many lives as possible.
This is what true bingo spirit is all about - even while we are busy playing and enjoying, we don’t forget to do our bit. This November, we look forward to joining hands with you once again in helping Children in Need.
